-........Approved For Release 2004/10/13 CIA-RDP88-0135~R,Qp%2?W.69006-2 f lw r $0 C- U~t.O L 25X1 blication, of Book,, THE MAC CASE 1. We have, advanced uncorrected proof of a book which will appear in November 1969, by Claire (Neikind) STER Li d'G. entitled THE MASAA"VTT CASE that Jan MASARYK was murdered. b. that the murder was done by a pair of thugs unidentified but originating with a group of " Eeria guerrillas, " who were in Prague as members of what she calls "the Soviet Centrunrn. " c. that the Czech communists might have preferred to let Jan MASARYIc loave, but the Soviets would not risk the possibility that he might escape. 3. Soviets are especially sensitive to evocations of the MASA3tYK CASE. This book will keep the pressure up. 4. The documentation falls short of what we would have considered it possible to may at this stage. The author's inability to identify Soviets is a disappointment. Moreover, she has apparently been fed, possibly in good faith, some information of doubtful validity or relevance. The references to the "Soviet Centruxall are esoteric enough to raise a doubt. cxcrutlerl fi1'; j a~;la~1{, dow nrrnmwr as r1,.,,,,s~~'fa~s3lflsa#J~n Approved For Release 2004/10/13 : CIA-RDP88-0135OR000200060006-2
