Welcome to Esoteric Library ("we", "us", "the Library"). By accessing or using our website at esotericlibrary.org, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. About the Service

Esoteric Library is a free digital library curating public domain books on esoteric, occult, mystical and philosophical traditions. Most content is sourced from Project Gutenberg, Internet Archive, Global Grey, Sacred Texts and other reputable public-domain repositories. Books are provided for educational, cultural and personal reading use.

2. Free Access

Access to the Library is free. You do not need to register to read or browse content. Optional registration unlocks additional features — reading progress, bookmarks, reviews and community discussions.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for your account and keeping your password confidential.
You must be at least 13 years old to register.
You may not create multiple accounts to abuse site features.
We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

4. Content & Intellectual Property

Public domain books on the Library belong to their respective original authors; copyright has expired or been waived. Our editorial commentary, critical reviews, AI-generated descriptions, design and site structure are © Esoteric Library and licensed for personal, non-commercial use only.

5. User Contributions

If you submit reviews, comments, forum posts or upload books, you grant the Library a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute and archive your contribution. You confirm that:

You own or have rights to the content you submit.
Your contribution does not violate any third-party rights.
Content must not be illegal, hateful, harassing, spam, or promotional.

We reserve the right to remove any user content at our discretion.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Scrape, crawl or systematically download the Library for commercial redistribution.
Attempt to disrupt, overload or compromise site security.
Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
Use the site to distribute malware or conduct phishing.

7. AI-Generated Content

Some book summaries, reviews, author biographies and imagery on the Library are produced or assisted by AI models. We review such content for accuracy where possible but cannot guarantee it is free from error. AI-generated text is clearly structured as editorial content and not as a replacement for the original works.

8. Third-Party Links

The Library contains links to external services (Wikipedia, OpenLibrary, Archive.org, etc.). We are not responsible for their content, policies or availability.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Library is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of content, or fitness for any particular purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Esoteric Library and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
