The booklet was published by Maktab al-Islami and is a short treatise containing a fatwa (religious verdict) from this great scholar of the seventh century on some of the practices that those who ascribed themselves to Sufism were upon in those days, and still are upon till this day.</p><p style="font-size:13px;margin:0px 0px 18px;padding:0px;line-height:1.385;color:rgb(68,68,68);font-family:'open-sans-1', 'open-sans-2', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;text-align:justify;background-color:rgb(249,247,245);">The fatwa generally focuses on musical instruments and singing, which were practices the Sufis performed, taking it as part of the religion and using that as a means of drawing nearer to Allaah.
