Okay, Sweet Universe

Danny and Jose jokingly believe their extremely lucid dreams are a prequel to their afterlives, but when they learn their journey into a further state of consiousness endangers their current universe they understand that reality is far more precious than they ever could have imagined. Soon they find themselves stuck between feuding universes, who consume each other when one is made vulnerable by consciousness expansion; and also stuck between two human forces with differing opinions. The first side is led by the mysterious Director Campbell, the leader of a militia intent on disrupting consciousness expansion so that our universe doesn't become vulnerable and get eaten. The other side is led by a girl named Kenzie, who believes that being consumed by a better universe is the only way to reach a higher state of consciousness. If dealing with that isn't enough, Danny and Jose have to deal with their dream lives, which get stranger and stranger every time they fall asleep. In Danny's dream he must endure a dystopian America where people behave like animals for lust, violence and gluttony. In Jose's dream he is an Alaskan State Detective thrust into a religious cult hidden within a hollowed out mountain. None of it makes sense at first, but as they dive further and further into their minds they realize that their reality and dreams might not be so different after all. They might even hold some answers to the universe.
