After receiving formal art education in painting and theatrical design, Huson developed a significant career in film and television, working as an art director and later as a writer and producer for various television series and teleplays. He collaborated extensively with William Bast, and together they received a People's Choice Award in 1986 for 'The Colbys'.

Parallel to his work in media, Huson cultivated a deep interest in esoteric studies. During his art school years, he engaged with the Qabalah and the Western Esoteric Tradition through the Society of the Inner Light. He also worked as a research assistant in psychical research and studied the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and Stella Matutina under Israel Regardie. This esoteric background informed his writing, leading to several influential books on witchcraft, tarot, and parapsychology, many of which he illustrated himself. He also designed his own tarot deck.

He transitioned into the art department, working as an art director for BBC television and Columbia Pictures in the UK from 1965 to 1968. Upon emigrating to the United States, he shifted his focus to writing, contributing scripts to American television shows like 'Family' and 'James at 15'. He later collaborated with William Bast on several television series, including 'Tucker's Witch', 'The Hamptons', and the award-winning 'The Colbys'. Their work also includes teleplays for adaptations of novels and original productions such as 'The Big One: the Great Los Angeles Earthquake'.
