Pan-Sophia

Pan-Sophia is a student journal on the topics of theosophy and esotericism. The articles included in the journal are exam papers, which have been chosen in virtue of their success in conveying interesting and relevant ideas in the fields of esotericism and theosophy. Included in this first edition of the journal are topics ranging from views on the history of scientific inquiry in mysticism, mysticism from antiquity to the Middle Ages, an essay on opinions concerning alchemy, an inquiry into the life and work of John of the Cross and an examination of panpsychism as a doctrine in the Western esoteric traditions. The field of Western esotericism and theosophy is still under construction and a reoccurring theme throughout the articles will be discussions of the field itself and its boundaries. The articles will be dependent on many different sources and the historical range will stretch from antiquity to modern times. We hope Pan-Sophia will help put focus on a relatively new and interesting field in scientific inquiry and hopefully cover many topics in the fields of Western Esotericism and theosophy.
