Relocating to New York City in 2004, McCann took a role at Marvel Comics, initially handling publicity and public relations, and managing press events.
McCann later transitioned back to writing for Marvel, creating original graphic novels and contributing to various comic series. He co-created the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel "Return of the Dapper Men" with artist Janet Lee.
