Kieron Gillen is a British writer, formerly a journalist in video games and music, who has achieved significant recognition in the comic book industry. He is particularly noted for his creator-owned series, such as "Phonogram," "The Wicked + The Divine," "Die," and "Once & Future," often collaborating with artist Jamie McKelvie. Gillen has also had a prolific career at Marvel Comics, contributing to major titles like "Journey into Mystery," "Uncanny X-Men," "Young Avengers," and a significant run on "Star Wars" comics, where he co-created the character Doctor Aphra. His work has garnered numerous awards and nominations, including British Fantasy Awards and Hugo Award nominations.

Before dedicating himself to comic book writing, Kieron Gillen established a career in journalism, focusing on video games and music. He wrote for various prominent publications, including Amiga Power, PC Gamer UK, Wired, and The Guardian. Gillen was the first video game journalist to receive an award from the Periodical Publishers Association for New Specialist Consumer Journalist in 2000.
