Michelle Harrison, born in 1979, is a British author whose literary career began with her debut novel, 'The Thirteen Treasures'. This book achieved significant recognition, winning the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize and securing translation rights in numerous countries. It also launched a trilogy, followed by 'The 13 Curses' and 'The 13 Secrets'. Harrison later expanded her work to include young adult fiction with the ghost story 'Unrest' in 2012.

Originally from Grays, Essex, Harrison pursued illustration studies at Staffordshire University. Before dedicating herself to writing full-time, she held various roles, including working as a barmaid, in an art gallery, as a bookseller specializing in children's literature, and as an assistant editor for a children's book publisher. She currently resides in Oxfordshire and continues to write.
