Karen Berg, born October 12, 1942, was the founder of Kabbalah Centre International and an author known for her works on Kabbalah.

She encountered orthodox Judaism in New York, where she met Philip Berg, whom she married in 1971. The couple moved to Jerusalem and later established The Research Centre of Kabbalah in Tel Aviv. They eventually relocated to New York, where their home became the first U.S. location for the Kabbalah Centre, later moving to Beverly Hills.

Berg authored five books, including "God Wears Lipstick: Kabbalah for Women" (2005) and "Simple Light, Wisdom from a Woman's Heart" (2008). She also founded The Kabbalah Centre Charitable Foundation and Kids Creating Peace, an organization focused on children in conflict zones. After Philip Berg's death in 2013, Karen Berg became the spiritual leader of the Kabbalah Centre. She passed away on July 30, 2020.

Founding of the Kabbalah Centre

Karen Berg played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding the Kabbalah Centre International. After meeting Philip Berg, a teacher of Kabbalah, and marrying him, she actively supported his teachings. Together, they founded The Research Centre of Kabbalah in Tel Aviv. Following their time in Israel, they moved to New York, where their residence served as the initial U.S. base for the Kabbalah Centre. The organization later relocated its headquarters to Beverly Hills. Berg continued to lead the centre's activities after her husband's passing, becoming its spiritual leader.

Authorship and Kabbalistic Teachings

Berg authored several books that aimed to make Kabbalistic wisdom accessible. Her works include "God Wears Lipstick: Kabbalah for Women," which explores ancient Kabbalistic concepts for a female audience, and "Simple Light, Wisdom from a Woman's Heart." Other titles by Berg are "To Be Continued, Reincarnation and the Purpose of Our Lives" and "Finding the Light Through the Darkness, Inspirational Lessons Rooted in the Bible and the Zohar." These writings reflect her engagement with Kabbalistic philosophy and its application to life's questions.

Philanthropic Initiatives

Beyond her work with the Kabbalah Centre, Karen Berg was involved in significant philanthropic endeavors. She founded The Kabbalah Centre Charitable Foundation and established Spirituality for Kids, an online program designed to assist at-risk youth. In 2005, she also created Kids Creating Peace, an organization dedicated to fostering peace among children residing in war-affected regions of the Middle East. These initiatives highlight her commitment to social welfare and youth development.
