Pablo de Santis

Born in Cuba in 1950, Enrico Mario Santí emigrated to the United States in 1962. He pursued higher education at Vanderbilt and Yale, earning a PhD from Yale. Santí has had a distinguished academic career, teaching at numerous universities including Duke, Cornell, Georgetown, and the University of Kentucky. He has received several teaching and research awards, including the Clark Distinguished Teacher of the Year and a University Research Professorship.

Santí is a prolific author and editor, with fourteen books to his name and eighteen volumes edited. He is particularly known for his critical and annotated editions of seminal Latin American works by authors such as Octavio Paz, Pablo Neruda, and Guillermo Cabrera Infante. His scholarly work often focuses on the analysis and preservation of these literary classics, making them accessible for academic study worldwide. Beyond his academic and editorial contributions, Santí is also a poet, a translator of poetry into Cuban Spanish, a voice actor, and a sculptor.
