Lon Milo DuQuette

Lon Milo DuQuette, born in 1948, is an American author, lecturer, musician, and occultist recognized for his distinctive use of humor in exploring Western Hermeticism. Initially pursuing a career in music during the 1970s, he released records on the Epic label before shifting his focus to mysticism in 1972. For over two decades, DuQuette has been deeply involved with the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), serving in various governing capacities since 1975, including as the United States Deputy Grand Master since 1996. He is also an Archbishop within the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica, the O.T.O.'s ecclesiastical branch.

DuQuette began his writing career in 1988, producing numerous books that delve into subjects such as Aleister Crowley's work, Freemasonry, Tarot, Qabalah, ceremonial magick, Enochian magick, and Goetic evocation. His ability to blend humor with these esoteric topics has made him a notable figure in the field. His autobiography, 'My Life with the Spirits,' is recognized as a required text in academic settings. DuQuette also returned to music in the 2000s, releasing several albums. He resides in California with his wife, Constance Jean Duquette, and they have one son.

He released music under the name Charley D. and Milo, including singles and an album on the Epic Records label. His musical endeavors involved performing alongside notable artists and collaborating with his partner Charles Dennis Harris. After a hiatus of over 25 years, DuQuette rediscovered his passion for music in 2005, prompted by receiving a ukulele. This led to the release of several self-produced CDs and subsequent record contracts. In 2012, he released 'I'm Baba Lon,' his first studio album in four decades, followed by its sequel, 'Baba Lon II,' marking a significant return to his musical roots and demonstrating a continued engagement with creative expression across different artistic mediums.
