Lon M. Duquette

Lon Milo DuQuette, born July 11, 1948, is an American author, lecturer, musician, and occultist recognized for his distinctive application of humor to the study of Western Hermeticism. He has also been known by the pseudonyms Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford and Tau Lamed. Initially pursuing a career in music during the 1970s, releasing recordings on the Epic Records label, DuQuette transitioned to a full-time focus on mysticism in 1972. For over two decades, he dedicated himself to exploring the teachings of Aleister Crowley and Western magical traditions. He is a long-standing governing officer within the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), serving as its United States Deputy Grand Master since 1996, and is also an Archbishop in its ecclesiastical arm, Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica.

DuQuette began his writing career in 1988 and has since authored numerous books that delve into subjects such as Freemasonry, Tarot, Qabalah, ceremonial magic, and the Enochian system. His work often analyzes and interprets the writings of Aleister Crowley. His autobiography, "My Life with the Spirits," has been adopted as a required text in university courses. After a hiatus, DuQuette returned to music in 2005, releasing several albums. He continues to lecture and teach, notably on the faculty of the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies.

Before dedicating himself to occult studies and writing, Lon Milo DuQuette had an early career in music. In the 1970s, he worked as a studio musician and recording artist, releasing singles and an album under the name Charley D. and Milo on the Epic Records label. He performed with notable artists of the era. After a long period focused on his esoteric pursuits, DuQuette rediscovered his passion for music in 2005. This resurgence led to the release of several self-produced CDs and a new record contract. In 2012, he released his first studio album in four decades, "I'm Baba Lon," followed by "Baba Lon II" and subsequent recordings, marking a significant return to his musical roots.
