She has received a RITA award from the Romance Writers of America for Best Paranormal Romance and has been nominated multiple times. Moning holds a bachelor's degree in Society and Law from Purdue University. Prior to her writing career, she held various jobs, including bartender, computer consultant, and insurance specialist.
