Stephen Davies, born on July 28, 1976, is a British author and creative writing tutor. He gained recognition for his picture books and novels aimed at young readers. A significant portion of his work is set in West Africa and Egypt, influenced by his time living in Burkina Faso from 2001 to 2014. Davies also writes tie-in novels for the Netflix animated series Hilda. His books have been translated into more than twenty languages. After relocating to London in 2014, he began teaching creative writing both in the UK and internationally. Davies has received recognition for his writing, including the Africa Geographic 'Travel Writer of the Year' award in 2003 and the Glen Dimplex New Writers Award for Children's Category in 2006. His bibliography includes picture books, chapter books, comic books, young adult novels, non-fiction titles, and TV tie-in novels.
