Born in Buffalo, New York, in 1936, Charles "Chic" Cicero is an American author focused on esoteric subjects. He has dedicated over forty years to practicing ceremonial magic. His scholarly pursuits have led him to research topics such as Rosicrucianism and the Knights Templar, with his findings published in various journals including Ars Quatuor Coronatorum and the Transactions of the Metropolitan College of the SRIA. Cicero is an active participant in numerous fraternal and esoteric organizations, including Masonic, Martinist, and Rosicrucian groups, holding leadership positions within the York Rite and Grand York Rite Masonic Bodies.
Cicero is recognized for his close association with the late Israel Regardie. In 1977, he established a temple aligned with the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Cicero played a significant role in Regardie's efforts to re-establish a legitimate initiatory branch of the Order in the United States during the early 1980s. He currently serves as president of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Inc. Alongside his wife, Sandra Tabatha Cicero, he co-authors extensively on subjects related to the Golden Dawn, Tarot, Kabbalah, and the broader Western mystery tradition.
