Benjamin Ridge

Born around 1982, Benjamin Law is an Australian author, screenwriter, and journalist. He gained recognition for his 2010 memoir, "The Family Law," which was later adapted into a television series. Law also authored "Gaysia: Adventures in the Queer East," a journalistic examination of LGBT life in Asia. His career includes extensive journalism for various Australian publications and contributions to co-authored books, including "Sh*t Asian mothers say" and "Law School." He has also contributed chapters to several anthologies and written essays, notably "Moral Panic 101."

Law has been actively involved in advocating for LGBTQ+ inclusion, participating in public discussions and serving as an ambassador for the National Library of Australia. He is a founding member of the Australian Writers' Guild's Diversity and Inclusion Action Committee. Law hosts the radio program and podcast "Stop Everything!" for ABC Radio National. He holds a PhD in creative writing and cultural studies from the Queensland University of Technology and is openly gay.
