Born in Kiyosu, Japan, Akira Toriyama displayed an early passion for drawing, focusing on animals and vehicles. Influenced by animated films like "One Hundred and One Dalmatians" and the manga "Astro Boy," he developed a deep interest in illustration and manga. Despite initial enjoyment of films and television, including "Ultraman" and "Gamera" kaiju movies, his fascination with drawing persisted. Initially an adventure and gag manga, "Dragon Ball" transformed into a highly influential martial arts fighting series.
