Petah Tikva (Hebrew: פתח תקווה, pronounced [ˈpetaχ ˈtikva] ), also spelt Petah Tiqwa and known informally as Em HaMoshavot (lit. 'Mother of the Moshavot, or colonies'), is a city in the Central District of Israel, 10.6 km (6.6 mi) east of Tel Aviv.
