Raymond Almiran Montgomery Jr., born in Greenwich, Connecticut, in 1936, was a significant American author and a driving force behind the groundbreaking 'Choose Your Own Adventure' interactive book series. After studying at Williams College and pursuing graduate studies at Yale and New York University, Montgomery's career became intrinsically linked with the creation of this unique literary format. He passed away in Warren, Vermont, in 2014.
