His father, Eugenio d'Ors, was a prominent publisher, essayist, and philosopher, recognized as a key figure of late Spanish Modernism. Raised in a cultured and cosmopolitan environment, Pablo traveled extensively in his youth. His education included attendance at the liberal Instituto-Escuela. The Spanish Civil War significantly impacted his early life; after initially seeking refuge, he eventually joined the Carlist troops. He married Palmira Lois Estévez, with whom he had eleven children, many of whom followed academic or intellectual paths, contributing to the family's intellectual legacy.
