Georg Feuerstein (1947–2012) was a German scholar recognized for his extensive work on Yoga, Tantra, and Hinduism. Born in Germany, he pursued postgraduate studies in England before living for many years in the United States. In 2004, he relocated to Canada with his wife and spiritual partner, Brenda L. Feuerstein, eventually becoming a Canadian citizen shortly before his passing in 2012. Feuerstein was a dedicated researcher and author, contributing over 30 books to the study of Eastern spiritual traditions. His academic output included translations of foundational texts like the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita. He was also an early Life member of the Indian Academy of Yoga at Benares Hindu University.
