Emma de Caunes is a French actress known for her film roles and public accusation of sexual misconduct against Harvey Weinstein.
Emma de Caunes, born in Paris on September 9, 1976, is a French actress from a family with a background in media and entertainment. Her father is actor and director Antoine de Caunes, and her paternal grandparents were journalist Georges de Caunes and early French television announcer Jacqueline Joubert.
De Caunes began her acting career at age 12. She gained recognition for her role in Sylvie Verheyde's 1997 film "Un frère," for which she received the Most Promising Actress award at the 1998 César awards. She also appeared in the 2007 comedy "Mr. Bean's Holiday." In 2017, de Caunes publicly accused producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct, detailing an incident at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival where she alleged he lured her to his hotel room and pursued her naked.
Her personal life includes a marriage to singer Sinclair from 2001 to 2005, with whom she has a daughter. She later married English comic book artist Jamie Hewlett in 2011. De Caunes obtained her French baccalauréat in film in 1995.
