Georg Ku Hlewind

Born György Székely in Hungary, Georg Kühlewind (1924–2006) was a philosopher, writer, and meditation instructor deeply engaged with Rudolf Steiner's spiritual science. While he initially explored music and psychology, he ultimately pursued a career as a physical chemist. Throughout his professional life, Kühlewind dedicated himself to deepening his spiritual understanding and practices. He became a prolific author, though most of his extensive writings remain untranslated from German. Kühlewind traveled extensively, delivering lectures and leading workshops and seminars. His teaching covered a range of topics including meditation, psychology, epistemology, child development, anthroposophy, and esoteric Christianity. He authored a significant number of books on these subjects.

Kühlewind's work is firmly rooted in the tradition of Rudolf Steiner's spiritual science, often referred to as anthroposophy. He focused on the inner development of consciousness, viewing spiritual practice not as separate from daily life but as integral to it. His lectures and writings explored the potential for human consciousness to expand beyond ordinary perception, delving into the nature of the soul and its journey. He taught methods for cultivating awareness and understanding the deeper structures of reality, often through the lens of esoteric Christianity and the concept of the Logos.
