Daniel Jay Millman, born in 1946, is an American author and public speaker focused on personal growth. He gained widespread recognition through the film 'Peaceful Warrior', which was adapted from his life and book of the same name. Millman's early life was marked by athletic achievements, including national and world championships in gymnastics and trampoline. He pursued higher education at the University of California, Berkeley, where he continued his athletic success, earning NCAA championships and national titles. A severe motorcycle accident during his college years led to significant injury but also a determined rehabilitation, allowing him to return to gymnastics and co-captain his championship-winning team. Despite the extensive medical intervention and rehabilitation required, Millman's dedication allowed him to return to the sport, ultimately co-captaining his team to an NCAA championship victory in 1968.
