Kang Nam-gil, born August 27, 1958, is a South Korean actor who began his career as a child performer in 1966. He transitioned to adult roles in 1981 and gained significant popularity with the family drama "Under the Same Roof" in 1986. His portrayal of the character "Dal-soo" in an MBC Best Theater episode, which satirized societal issues, brought him widespread recognition, with "The Trial of Dal-soo" achieving the highest viewership ratings in the series' history.

Following a divorce in 2000 and a subsequent heart attack, Kang took a hiatus from acting and relocated to England with his children. He returned to South Korea four years later and resumed his acting career. Beyond his acting, Kang has authored computer books for beginners. In 2004, he published "Oh! My God," a personal memoir detailing his experiences as a stay-at-home father in Birmingham. His acting work continued, including a leading role in the 2008 dramedy "Who Are You?"
