Lillian Too was a prominent Malaysian figure recognized for her extensive work in feng shui. With an MBA from Harvard Business School, she began a successful career in finance, becoming the first woman to lead a public company in Malaysia and later the first woman CEO of a bank in Asia. After retiring from the corporate world, Too established 'World of Feng Shui' (WOFS.com), a global merchandising and franchising company. She authored over 200 books on feng shui, which have been translated into numerous languages and sold millions of copies worldwide. Too also founded a feng shui certification institute and hosted television programs focused on the practice. Her engagement with Tibetan Buddhism led her to take refuge with Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche and become involved with the FPMT network.

Following her extensive career in banking and corporate leadership, Lillian Too transitioned to dedicating her efforts to feng shui. In 1997, Lillian Too encountered Tibetan lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche and formally took refuge with him, indicating a significant step in her spiritual journey. Her book, 'The Buddha Book,' elaborates on her engagement with Tibetan Buddhism and suggests practices associated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), a network of dharma centers. Too also served as the former president and center director for the FPMT's Losang Drakpa Centre in Selangor, Malaysia, demonstrating an active role in the organization.
