Catherine Ponder

Born in 1927, Catherine Ponder is an American minister and author recognized for her extensive writings within the New Thought movement, primarily focusing on the principles of prosperity. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Unity Ministerial School, received in 1956. Ponder was ordained as a Unity Church minister in 1958 and subsequently established several ministries across Alabama and Texas before founding a ministry in Palm Desert, California, where she continues her work.

Ponder has authored over a dozen books, including her popular "Millionaires of the Bible" series. Her first book on prosperity, "The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity," was written in the early 1960s. She has shared her insights on universal prosperity principles through lectures across the United States and numerous media appearances. Her works have been recognized for their contribution to success literature, with "The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity" and "Open Your Mind To Prosperity" being featured in Tom Butler-Bowdon's compilations of success and prosperity classics.

Catherine Ponder's ministerial career began in 1958 after her ordination as a Unity Church minister. Her initial pastoral service was in Birmingham, Alabama, from 1958 to 1961. Following this, she was instrumental in founding and leading ministries in Austin, Texas (1961–1969), and San Antonio (1969–1973). In 1973, she established a ministry in Palm Desert, California, where she has remained an active minister. Ponder is also recognized as the founder of Unity Church Worldwide, an organization affiliated with the broader Unity Church movement.

Ponder is a prolific author, having written more than a dozen books that are central to the New Thought philosophy, with a consistent emphasis on prosperity. Her literary output includes the highly successful "Millionaires of the Bible" series, which explores themes of abundance through biblical figures. Her foundational work in this area, "The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity," was penned in the early 1960s.
