Throughout her career, Lucas engaged in direct action, including protests at nuclear bases and against fracking operations. In 2001, she was convicted of a breach of the peace during a protest at the Faslane nuclear base, arguing for the right to peaceful protest. Later, she was arrested and charged for obstructing a public highway during an anti-fracking demonstration, though she was subsequently found not guilty. These actions highlight her commitment to civil disobedience in pursuit of her political convictions.
