Katy Wix, born in 1980, is a Welsh performer and writer with a diverse career in television, radio, and comedy. She gained recognition for her roles in popular shows such as "Not Going Out," "Torchwood: Children of Earth," and "Ghosts," where she played the character Mary. Wix has also appeared as a contestant on "Taskmaster" and developed her own comedy series for BBC Radio 4 and Channel 4. Beyond her acting and comedic work, she is also an artist, with her painting exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in 2017. In 2021, she published her first memoir, "Delicacy," which explores themes of loss, body image, and recovery.

Born and raised in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, Katy Wix's parents were involved in the arts, both having attended drama school before pursuing careers in arts administration and stage management. Her brother is a musician. Wix pursued higher education at the University of Warwick before attending the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. It was during her time at the Royal Welsh College that she entered the Funny Women competition, where she met her future comedy partner, Anna Crilly.

Wix's television career includes recurring roles in "Not Going Out" as Daisy and a significant part in "Torchwood: Children of Earth" as Rhiannon Davies. She has also appeared in "Agatha Raisin," "Sherlock," and "Decline and Fall." Her role as Mary in the BBC sitcom "Ghosts" brought her further acclaim. On radio, she co-wrote and starred in the BBC Radio 4 sitcom "Bird Island" and "Party," and featured in "Ankle Tag" and "The Accidental AM." She also developed the sketch show "Anna & Katy" for Channel 4.

In addition to her performance work, Katy Wix has authored two books of monologues and, in 2021, released her debut memoir, "Delicacy: a memoir of cake and death." This personal work delves into 21 pivotal life experiences, addressing themes of loss, body image, recovery from an eating disorder, and love. Wix's memoir offers a candid look at her life, including significant personal challenges such as a serious car accident at age 26 that resulted in multiple fractures and ongoing health issues, and a sudden hospitalization due to gallstones during the filming of "Taskmaster."
