From antiquity, astrology has faced significant criticism from skeptical philosophers and later from scientific inquiry. Early critiques, such as those by Carneades and Cicero, questioned its deterministic implications, its observational inconsistencies, and its ability to account for individual variations. With the advent of the scientific method in the late 19th century, astrology has been rigorously challenged on both theoretical and empirical grounds, leading to its classification as a pseudoscience with no demonstrable scientific validity or explanatory power in the modern era.
