Michael Francis Foley, born June 7, 1965, is an American figure in professional wrestling, also known for his work as a comedian and author. He achieved significant fame in promotions like the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).

Foley is celebrated for his innovative and often brutal in-ring style, earning him the moniker "The Hardcore Legend." He is particularly recognized for portraying multiple distinct characters, famously known as the "Three Faces of Foley": Cactus Jack, Mankind, and Dude Love. His career highlights include multiple world championship reigns and induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. Beyond wrestling, Foley has authored books and performed stand-up comedy.

Born in Bloomington, Indiana, on June 7, 1965, Michael Francis Foley developed an early passion for professional wrestling. A pivotal moment occurred in October 1983 when, as a college student, he witnessed his idol "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka perform a daring dive in a steel cage match at Madison Square Garden. This experience profoundly influenced him, inspiring him to pursue a career in the wrestling industry. Foley trained formally at Dominic DeNucci's wrestling school and began his professional career in 1986 under the persona "Cactus Jack." During his early years, he competed in various independent promotions and gained experience in WWF television tapings, often under different ring names.

Foley is renowned for his development of distinct wrestling characters, most notably Cactus Jack, Mankind, and Dude Love, collectively known as the "Three Faces of Foley." Cactus Jack was depicted as a brutal, uncompromising brawler, while Mankind was an eerie, masochistic character. Dude Love presented a more laid-back, hippie persona.
