After completing high school, she lived abroad in Mykonos, Greece, before moving to New York City, where she worked as a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines. Prior to her writing career, Noël held a diverse range of jobs, including babysitter, sales clerk, administrative assistant, office manager, jewelry maker, T-shirt painter, and hotel front desk clerk. Her aspiration to become an author was sparked in the sixth grade after reading Judy Blume's "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret."

More recently, in September 2015, Noël announced a future film adaptation for "Saving Zoë," starring the Marano sisters. Her book "Art Geeks & Prom Queens" received the NYLA Book of Winter award in 2006 and was nominated for the Teens Top Ten award that same year. "Saving Zoe" was honored with the National Reader's Choice Award in 2007.
