The Sanskrit term Mahattattwa is a compound of "Mahat," meaning great, and "Tattwa," meaning principle or reality. It signifies the "Great Principle" or "Great Reality," specifically referring to the cosmic intellect. This concept is foundational in Samkhya philosophy, one of the oldest systematic philosophies of India.
