Kapila Rishi

The name "Kapila" derives from the Sanskrit root kapila, meaning "brown" or "tawny," possibly referring to the color of his hair or ascetic robes. He is a foundational figure in Hindu intellectual history, with his teachings forming the basis of the Samkhya system, a major darshana (philosophical school) that predates many other Indian traditions.
