Devi Sahab

The term "Sahab" is derived from Arabic, meaning "companion" or "master," and is used as a respectful suffix in Hindustani languages, akin to "Lord" or "Sir." "Devi" is Sanskrit for "goddess" or "divine feminine," but in this context, it signifies a revered spiritual figure, often a female master, or a master embodying divine qualities.

Baba Devi Sahab (1841–1919) was one of the leaders of the Sant Mat religious movement, popularizing it throughout North India and Pakistan.
